Doing your taxes with H&R Block is not a requirement to open a Spruce account, but you are always welcome to do so! Spruce is for anyone who wants to be good with money. We were built by H&R Block, but being an H&R Block client is not a requirement.

All you need to do now is get the Spruce app or go to sprucemoney.com to sign up. You’ll need to provide some verification info, create a unique password, and voilà! Spruce will be ready to go for you. You’ll need to use the email address and phone number you provided while filing your taxes if you started your electronic Spruce account in the H&R Block Online experience.

Spruce spending and savings accounts are established at, and the Spruce debit card is issued by, Pathward®, N.A., Member FDIC.
